Cebu【UMITOMACHI Fes】Report

Umitomachi has been a wonderful experience for us. We loved seeing all the different places (Hualien, Sulawesi, Kesennuma), listening to all the stories, and learning about everyone’s cultures. It was the closest thing to traveling for us during the pandemic. It was great to meet different people online and to even become friends with them. As local guides, it allowed us to explore Cebu more and made us realize that there are many more things to discover about our own place. There are exciting possibilities for Umitomachi in the future. We can imagine people visiting each country (when it’s safe) where participants can learn and experience in real life the music, art, food, and places that were discussed during the online events. These can all grow into more collaborations where we can celebrate the things that make us different and the things that make us the same.

UMITOMACHIは私たちにとって素晴らしい経験でした。 さまざまな場所（花蓮、スラウェシ、気仙沼）を見て、すべての話を聞いて、みんなの文化について学ぶのがとても楽しかったです。 それはパンデミックの間に私たちができる旅行に最も近いものでした。 オンラインでさまざまな人と出会い、友達になることさえできて良かったです。 ローカルガイドとして、セブをもっと探索することができ、私たちの場所について発見することがもっとたくさんあることに気づきました。 将来、UMITOMACHIにはエキサイティングな可能性があります。 参加者がオンラインイベントで話し合った音楽、アート、食べ物、場所を実際に学び、体験できる各国を訪れる人々を想像することができます（旅行が行き来できる時）。 これらすべては、我々の違いや共通点を尊重し合えるコラボレーションに育っていく可能性があります。
